Kina Grannis

Kina Kasuya Grannis (* August 4, 1985 in Mission Viejo, California) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist.

Life

Kina Grannis grew up in Mission Viejo, California, on. In elementary school she composed a simple piano works and thus approached at regional competitions. She played violin in the school orchestra and this led to the high school into further. At 15, she taught herself to play the guitar; it is still their primary instrument.

Career

Kina Grannis won the " Doritos Crash the Super Bowl " contest. Their development in the competition has been documented in The Orange County Register and The Wall Street Journal. As a prize she was awarded a contract with Interscope Records, as well as their videos were played during the commercial breaks of the Super Bowl XLII.
