Kinchafoonee Creek

The Kinchafoonee Creek is a watercourse in southwest Georgia. It rises in the vicinity of Buena Vista. It flows 121 km in a southeasterly direction and empties near Albany in the Flint River.
The term Kinchafoonee comes from the Creek and refers to a mortar made of bone, which served for crushing nuts.
The watercourse flows through the County's Marion, Webster (the former Kinchafoonee County), Sumter, Terrell, Lee and Dougherty.
