Kindl-Bühne Wuhlheide

The Berliner Kindl- stage Wuhlheide is a listed open-air venue in the form of an amphitheater. It is located in Berlin - Oberschoeneweide belonging Wuhlheide park in the district of Treptow- Köpenick. The Kindl- stage without chairs has 17,000 spectator seats, chairs with 15,300 seats. It is named after the forest stage, the second largest open air theater in Berlin.

History

Parts of the public park Wuhlheide were following approximately from 1950, Soviet models, remodeled in the Pioneer Park Ernst Thalmann. On the occasion of the 3rd World Festival of Youth in the summer of 1951 ( opening ceremony on July 27, 1951 Mayor Friedrich Ebert ) the Large outdoor theater was built. It was built on mounds of rubble, which were created on the inside terraced oval guided rows of seats for about 20,000 visitors. To reach the top ring of the wall from the outside and get to the seats on the inside, caused extensive open stairways. Required toilets and ancillary buildings were built on the back of the wall in accordance with the then hygiene requirements and insights. In subsequent years, here is a variety of cultural and political events took place.

Early 1990s was the open air theater in a state of disrepair and could not be used. Nevertheless, it stands as a horticultural monument historical monument since August 25, 1990 in reunified Berlin.

Presence

In the years 1996/1997, the venue was completely renovated and modernized. The stage with a playing surface of 22.5 m × 16 m was given a permanent tented roof on steel structure, in which up to 16 tonnes of additional load ( light and sound) can be suspended. Also all the necessary functions and Outbuildings, as well as infrastructure facilities, such as toilets, power supply, emergency power generator, retail establishments, visitor benches and the like were built from scratch. The re-opening as a park Wuhlheide stage took place with a concert by the Brandenburg Philharmonic in Potsdam in June 1996.

In early 2003, the open-air stage in Kindl- stage Wuhlheide renamed ( according to the Berliner Kindl brewery ). The stage was the end of August 2007 by the State of Berlin, represented by the Property Fund Berlin, sold to the incumbent Parkbühne Wuhlheide GmbH.

In March 2008, the Kindl- stage Wuhlheide was awarded the Live Entertainment Award in the category Location of the Year.

In the summer of 2008, the Berlin-based band came to doctors with six sold-out concerts in front of more than 100,000 visitors.

The Kindl- stage Wuhlheide was elected in the summer of 2011 by the radio one listeners to the best concert venue in Berlin and was awarded the first radio one hot spot.
