Kinotavr

Kinotawr (Russian Кинотавр; internationally also in the spelling Kinotavr ) is a summer held annually since 1991 film festival in the southern Russian city of Sochi on the Black Sea. Was launched the festival by Mark Rudi Stein and Oleg Jankowski. It belongs alongside the International Film Festival Moscow at the most important film festivals in Russia.

Originally, the festival focused only on Russian filmmakers, in 2011, the geographical criterion was annulled, films about Kinotawr must have been turned off only in the Russian language to attend to can, but may have been produced in any country now.

The name of the event is a portmanteau of the cinema and the Minotaur (Russian Minotawr ).
