Kinyarwanda (also Kinjaruanda, Rwanda or Kinyarwanda ) is a common in Rwanda and in adjacent areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda Bantu language with over seven million speakers. It is the mother tongue of Hutus, Tutsis and Twas Banyamulenges.

Kinyarwanda is next to French and English is an official language in Rwanda and with the Kirundi, the language of the neighboring country Burundi, virtually identical. Beginning of the 20th century, during the German colonial period in Rwanda -Urundi, was a Latin -based Verschriftung.
