Reviews

" [ ... ] Kira 'is the Dogma 21 film, shot by the rules, which established a group of filmmakers led by Lars von Trier in 1995. You waive sophisticated technology in order to focus entirely on the actors can. This works really great. But, Kira 'is a psychological tour de force that demands some viewers. "

" [ ... ] How can a relationship survive such crises? Asks Dogme filmmaker Ole Christian Madsen [ ... ] in his disturbing and intense chamber piece. In the rotated with nervous Digi-Beta - hand camera scenes he peels layer after layer of the inner life of his protagonists free to finally decipher the reason for Kira's sadness. And to show what love can do. "

" [ ... ] Perhaps with the rules of Dogma film, nothing more difficult than just this tenderness to easily tilts the persistence with which the camera follows the cast and puts them over and over again with close- ups on the body, in cold penetrance to. Madsen has exposed with a Digi-Beta total of 120 hours of material - as he would hoard settings such as an insect collector his animals, and then to provide the most important examples on display. Inevitably growing so the viewer longing for structured and carefully lit pictures and written by wisely dialogs - in place of platitudes, which the furious acting performances give a meaning that does not belong to them. , I miss the one I used to be ', Kira complains in a big dramatic entrance. But who could not be said of him when he is once more than twenty? "

" [ ... ] At the beginning of acts Kira's reason (note:. Engl title: Kira's Reason) [ ... ] as one inspired by Ingmar Bergman study of spiritual fears and demons that lurk in the dark corners of a seemingly idyllic middle-class existence. But rather than continuing to move in a metaphysical direction, the film takes a sharp turn and remains in their own pain. True to his title, he finally told the reason for Kira's behavior. In a tearful scene secrets are revealed and faced trauma. Finally, the film, which has promised to start a lot more leads, the loose psychological threads together in a banal way that is reminiscent of kitchen psychology. Tears and the confession of one's own vulnerability can make such a life-long suppression undone. But of course this is in reality never so easy. "
