Kiruba

Kiruba was an Ecuadorian pop band. It bears the name of a legendary Shuar chief from the 16th century.

Band History

Kiruba was from October 2002 to February 2003 from the Ecuadorian version of the singing competition Popstars, broadcast by the station Tele Amazon TeVe. The band consisted of five singers. Your cast was announced for the first time on 24 February 2003.

Their first album Kiruba, produced by Eduardo de Narváez, has sold more than 20,000 times within three weeks and reached double - platinum status. Even after a day it had gold for 5000, possibly as early as two days platinum for 10,000 albums sold.

A concert tour, across Ecuador, led 2003 on 16 stations, of Quito on 25 April to Ibarra on July 19. 15,000 paying audience experienced Kiruba on April 30 in Cuenca, 9,000 paying audience arrived in Guayaquil on May 9 together.

The resolution of Kiruba was the latest in the autumn of 2006, joined as Gabriela Villalba and Mariela Nazareno other bands.

Gabriela Villalba played in 2004 in the Colombian TV series Al ritmo de tu corazón the role of Catalina Andrade. Since October 2006 she has been member of the Chilean pop rock band Kudai.

Mariela Nazareno since 2006 has been the lead singer of the Ecuadorian band Tinticos.
