Kirundo Province
Kirundo or Kirundu is the northernmost province in Burundi, bordering Rwanda. Its capital is also called Kirundo.
The population density in 1990 was 200 to 250 inhabitants per km ². Kirundo has an area of 1703.34 km ² and a population of 628,000 in 2007.
The Agriculture, Forestry limited to fishing in Rugwerosee and South Tschohoha Lake. Southwest some coffee is grown. Mineral resources of the southwest Rugwerosees are tungsten occurrences.
Kirundo is divided into seven districts Bugabira, Busoni, Bwambarangwe, Gitobe, Kirundo, Ntega and Vumbi.
