The Kiso Mountains (Japanese木 曽 山脉, Kiso- sanmyaku ), and Japanese " Central Alps " (中央 アルプス, Chūō Arupusu for engl. Alps ) called, is a mountain range in Nagano Prefecture in Japan. Together with the Hida Mountains (Northern Alps ) and the Akaishi Mountains ( Southern Alps ), it forms the Japanese Alps. The mountain range is situated between the rivers of Kiso and Tenryu in the west to the east, both of which flow into the Pacific Ocean. The mountain range is made up of granite.
