Kitron

Kitro from Naxos (Greek Κίτρο Νάξου ) is a Greek liqueur.

He is considered a liqueur with legally protected origin on the Cycladic island of Naxos, where it is exclusively produced. The distillery " Vallindra " in Chalkio regarded as the first manufacturer. Kitro is produced from the leaves of Zedratbaumes. Because of these, only about 2,000 copies on the island grow, the production quantity is limited, and there is no regular inter-regional sales.

Kitro is available in three different variations. Green Kitro the taste is very sweet and contains 30 % alcohol, slightly less than the slightly more clear Zitron. The Yellow Kitro is the strongest with the highest alcohol content and the lowest amount of sugar. The difference is due to the addition of different dyes that do not affect the taste.
