Kjetil André Aamodt

Kjetil André Aamodt ( born September 2, 1971 in Oslo ) is a retired Norwegian alpine skier who won so far the only four Alpine Olympic gold medals. Overall, he won 20 medals at Olympics and World Championships. The medal collection is issued in the Norwegian Olympic Museum in Lillehammer. Aamodt is next to Alberto Tomba the only male runner who could defend an Olympic title and one of the five runners who were in all disciplines in the alpine ski world cup winner. Thus, it is one of the most successful ski racers of all time.

Life

At the age of seven years Aamodt began with the active skiing. In the 1993/94 season he won the overall World Cup at age 22. From 1994 to 1995, he underwent surgery on the meniscus and had to pause. Aamodt lives with his wife, daughter and son in Oslo, where his father Finn has worked at the Olympic Training Center. This often accompanied him to competitions, to support him there. In addition to ski racing, he runs with golf, ice hockey, soccer and basketball are other sports as training, compensation and hobby. He is good friends with the equally successful former ski racer Lasse Kjus and told this to travel frequently and the hotel room.
