Klatovy District

Okres Klatovy ( German: District Klattau ) is a city in western Bohemia (Kreis Pilsen) in the Czech Republic with about 88,000 inhabitants occupies an area of ​​1946 km ² is, 43 % of which is forested. In the region there are also numerous lakes.

With a population density of 45 inhabitants / km ², the district is well below the average of the district and the country.

Economy

Industry is concentrated mainly on three largest cities Klatovy, Sušice and Horažďovice. The largest share form the food and textile industries as well as the engineering and construction. In agriculture, mainly grain, potatoes and beets are grown. The livestock consists mainly in the farming of cattle, pigs and poultry. The unemployment rate is 6.4 %.

Tourism
