Geography

Kleinwanzleben midst of the Magdeburg region lies between the cities Wanzleben, Seehausen and Oschersleben ( Bode), about 20 km southwest of Magdeburg.

History

The originally independent Remkersleben was first mentioned in the year 945, the church Kleinwanzleben first 1145th

The development of the community is connected to the sugar beet cultivation and the breeding of new varieties since 1838. It leads therefore also a sugar coat of arms.

1871 St John's Church was built cruciform floor plan. The local fire department was established in 1871. In 1923, the sports ground was built.

On 1 January 2002 Remkersleben and the associated district Meyendorf were integrated into the community Kleinwanzleben, so that both the districts of Kleinwanzleben were.

On 24 November 2009 the community Kleinwanzleben applied for the change of the municipality name to " sugar village Kleinwanzleben ". This was approved on 28 January 2010 by the county and entered February 11, 2010.

On 1 September 2010, the site was incorporated into the city Wanzleben - beading.

The coat of arms was approved on 28 June 1995 by the regional council of Magdeburg.

Economy and infrastructure

Locals firms

In Kleinwanzleben a sugar mill company was founded in 1838 by local farmers. In 1856 the farmer Matthias Christian Rabbethge took over the majority of shares in the sugar factory; from the small Saatzucht AG (formerly Rabbethge & Gieseke ) arose; today's KWS SAAT AG ( Einbeck ).

In Kleinwanzleben today one of the most modern sugar factories in Europe is located ( built in 1994 ). It belongs to the North Zucker AG.

Transport links

The B246a ( Beautiful (Elbe ) Seehausen ) affected Kleinwanzleben and leads through the district Remkersleben. There are other road links to Oschersleben ( Bode) and Hadmersleben. The motorway connection Wanzleben ( A 14) is about 11 km away from the resort. Kleinwanzleben lies on the railway line Blumenberg Eilsleben, which is, however, no longer operated in passenger since 2002. The nearest railway station with passenger Wanzleben - Blumenberg lies on the railway line Magdeburg- Halberstadt.
