KLIA Ekspres

Since 2002, the KLIA Ekspres connects the Kuala Lumpur International Airport ( KLIA ) and the main railway station of Kuala Lumpur. The 57 -kilometer journey takes exactly 28 minutes. The trains run every 15 - or 20 -minute intervals.

Manufacturers and operators

In 1995, the Malaysian government wrote from the privatization of the rail link between Kuala Lumpur Sentral ( KLS ) in Brickfields to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA ) in Sepang. The partnership of Tabung Haji Technologies (THT ) and YTL Corporation Bhd ( YTL ), from which the concession company Express Rail Link Sdn. Bhd.. ( ERLSB ) emerged, was awarded in November 1995, the project of the Government of Malaysia. On 25 August 1997, a concession agreement for the planning, financing, construction, management, operation and maintenance of the link was signed. The KLIA Ekspres was finally given in August 1999 at the German - Malaysian consortium ( SYZ Consortium) under the leadership of Siemens Transportation Systems in order. Consortium was " Syarikat Yeoh Tiong Lay Sdn Pembenaan. Bhd.. ( SPYTL ) ". Of the total of twelve locomotives which were delivered between September 2001 and May 2002 are from the " Ekspres Rail Link Sdn. Bhd.. " Eight trains as a direct express trains without intermediate stops, and four commuter rail service trains for connections with three other stops operating. The intermediate holding in Bandar Tasik Selatan are, Putrajaya and Salak Tinggi.

Rolling stock
