Knattspyrnufélagið Víkingur

Knattspyrnufélagid Víkingur, better known under the name Víkingur Reykjavík, is a football club based in the Icelandic capital Reykjavik, which plays in the second Icelandic league. The club colors are black and red. The Vikin Stadium in south-east of Reykjavík has 1,100 seats.

History

The club was founded on 21 April 1908. Since then enter Víkingur five title wins (1920, 1924, 1981, 1982 and 1991) and a Cup victory (1971 ), but overall the club has always been in the shadow of the bigger clubs KR, Fram and Valur Reykjavík. However, 2004 increased from Víkingur, in the following season in the first division. 2007 could no longer be held the class. 2010 it was in the 2nd league champions and thus played again top notch. However one rose directly as Table again and thus plays currently second class (2012 ).
