Knivsta Municipality
Knivsta is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Uppsala County and the historic province of Uppland. The main town of the municipality is Knivsta.
History
1952, the greater community Knivsta was formed from the parishes ( socks ) Alsike, Knivsta, Lagga, Vassunda and Östuna. In 1967 still parts of the community Skepptuna added. The present church was transferred in 1971 from Stockholm County Uppsala County after in the course of municipal reform and part of the municipality of Uppsala. There they remained until January 1, 2003, today the community Knivsta is independent again.
Coat of arms
Description: In an elevated red golden three mountain above the floats a golden crown.
Symbol: The coat of arms depicts the stone of Mora, on the earlier kings were elected.
Places
The two places Alsike and Knivsta are the only major centers ( tätort ) the community. The smaller towns and villages are:

- Skäggesta
- Spakbacken
- Vassunda
- Östunaby och Erkesberga
