Knud Baade

Knud Andreassen Baade, ( born March 28, 1808 in Skjold ( Horsens ), † November 24, 1879 in Munich ) was a Norwegian painter.

Knut Baade made ​​his first art studies in Bergen and went in 1827 to the Academy in Copenhagen. In 1830 he had his studies for financial reasons and moved to Christiania (now Oslo), where he worked as a portrait painter. After he had made in the following years, studies on the coast of Norway, in 1836 he moved to Dresden, where he worked under the guidance of his compatriot Johan Christian Clausen Dahl three years. In 1842 he settled in Munich. Baade's special compartment were the moonlit rocky coasts and fjords of Norway.

Baade was buried in the Old South Cemetery in Munich.
