Kobra and the Lotus

Kobra and the Lotus is the name of a company incorporated in Calgary 2008 Canadian Heavy Metal band. The group released their debut album in 2009.

History

Kobra and the Lotus in 2009 by namesake Kobra Paige and the musicians Chris Swenson, Matt van Wezel (both guitar), Ben Freud (E -Bass | Bass ) and founded Griffin Kissack (drums). Paige has a classical vocal training. The recordings for their debut album, Out of the Pit, started in 2009, the album was released the following year. After a tour that took them through her ​​native Canada in 2010, the group of Matt van Wezel and Ben Freud, which were replaced by Peter Dimov (bass) and Tim Brown (guitar ) 2011 separated. With them, the group embarked on their first European tour.

The band recorded the work on their second album, originally from February to April of 2011 with the music producer Julius Butty on and then went for a tour of the UK to Europe. The manager of the group, Susan bulls had been in contact with various record companies, played a manager of Universal Music Group, Mark Spicoluk demos of some pre-produced songs. Spicoluk assumed that Gene Simmons may have interest in signing the group for his label Simmons Records, and told him the band. Over the week, Simmons reported to cops and made his interest in signing clearly.

After they had signed, the band returned in January and February 2012 back to the studio to record four additional titles under the guidance of Kevin Churko. Churko also revised the previously recorded tracks. The album, Kobra and the Lotus ( album ) | Kobra and the Lotus, was released on 6 August 2012.

2013, the group was heading back into the studio to record their third album, whose release is planned for late January 2014.

Live

Kobra and the Lotus were, among others, at the Sonisphere Festival, Download Festival, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, Graspop Metal Meeting, Gods of Metal and Wacken Open Air. They also played as the opening act on tours of Judas Priest, Black Label Society, Slash, Steel Panther, 3 Inches of Blood and Primal Fear, Stratovarius, Praying Mantis, Demon Hunter, Buckcherry, and Amanda Somerville.
