Kobylisy

Kobylisy.The ( German Kobilis ) is a district of the Czech capital Prague in the 8th district of.

Geography

Kobylisy.The located in the north of Prague north of the great bend of the river Vltava. In the north of the district is surrounded by the forest Ďáblický háj from which the height Ládví projects, in the southeast of the highway Liberecká, which merges into the D8 motorway on the outskirts. Neighboring districts are Ďáblice (NO), Střížkov (O), Liben (S ), Troy (SW) and Čimice (NW).

Tram lines 10, 14, 17, 24 and 25 pass through Kobylisy.The; the lines 14 and 25 end opposite the Vozovna Kobylisy.The, one of the seven cars depots of Prague, on the northern edge of the district. The eastern part consists of a housing estate with approximately 10,000 residents, the western part of single family homes.

History

The first documented mention of Kobylisy.The dates from the year 1297 ( as " Kobolisy "). Kobylisy.The was incorporated in 1922 to Prague.

The shooting of Kobylisy.The ( Kobyliska střelnice ), which lies in the north at Ďáblický háj, was used by the Nazis in 1942 for mass executions. It was declared a National Monument in 1978 and now forms a memorial. Since 2004, the area is accessible by Metro Station and Metro Station Kobylisy.The Ládví Metro Line C.
