The Kodiak Airport ( IATA: ADQ, ICAO: PADQ ) is both a civilian, and military airport, which is located 7 km southwest of the town of Kodiak on Kodiak Island in the U.S. state of Alaska. Also, is there a station of the U.S. Coast Guard ( U.S. Coast Guard ).

The airport recorded 2010 80.303 passengers.

History

The airport is located on the site of the former Naval Air Station Kodiak, which was established in 1941. In 1950, the NAS Kodiak was closed, with the exception of the facilities of the Coast Guard.

1947, a detachment of the Coast Guard was sent to Kodiak and in 1964 for Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak. 1971 gave the U.S. Navy the airport to the State of Alaska.
