Kōenji Hyakkei

Koenjihyakkei (Japanese高 円 寺 百 景, Koenji Hyakkei ) is a Japanese Zeuhl band that was founded in the early 1990s.

Band History

The band was founded by drummer Tatsuya Yoshida Ruins. In 1994 the debut album with Aki Kubota from Bondage Fruit appeared, Ryuichi Masuda Ruins and Shigekazu Kuwahara. Koenjihyakkei played it Zeuhl Japanese-type with kobaïanischen choirs and dominant bass and drum rhythms. Then took place lineup changes and stylistic developments for each publication.

The band's name means " One Hundred Views of Koenji ", as well as the English title of the debut album. Koenji is a district of Tokyo.

Reception

On the Baby Blue Pages all seven peer-reviewed publications where the band by various reviewers as "good " (5) or " Very good" ( 2) were evaluated ( 10 or more out of 15 possible points ). Allmusic rated the first two albums with both 4.5 and the third 3.5 stars out of 5.
