Koffi Amponsah

Kofi Amponsah ( born April 23, 1978 in Accra ) is a Ghanaian football player at the position of a defender. He is currently without a club.

Career

Playing career

Amponsah began his career as a football player in the Ghanaian football club Ghapoha Readers of Tema, in which he played in the first team from 1997 to 1998. In 1999, Amponsah got an offer of the Greek football club AO Panelefsiniakos, which he accepted shortly thereafter. For the club Amponsah ran in the 1998/99 season on in 15 games, scoring one goal. That same season he moved to within Greece Olympiakos Piraeus, for which he came in the 1998/99 season and in the 1999/2000 season in ten games for use. During the 1999/2000 season he transferred to PAOK Thessaloniki, where he was until 2003 under contract. For the club he was in 62 games on the pitch, scoring two goals. In 2004, Amponsah came to AEK Athens for the championship games in 20 completed he came to a goal in the 2003/04 season and in the season 2004/ 05. Again he moved in the midst of a season the club when he transferred in 2004/ 05 to Egaleo AO Athens, for he came four times to use. This was followed by another change. This time he went to Apollon Kalamarias in the second Greek League, the Beta Ethniki. For Apollo, he came in the period 2005 to 2008 46 league inserts and two hits before he re- joined the club in 2008, left after nearly ten years of active football Greece and accepted a contract with Enosis Neon Paralimni in Cyprus. In July 2009, his contract was terminated; since he is without a club.

Internationally

His first tournament inserts for Ghana he graduated at the U- 20 World Cup 1997 in Malaysia for the U -20 team. Since 1999, Amponsah is in the squad Ghanaian national football team. In 2002 he took part in the Africa Cup in Cameroon and came in all four games of Ghana for use.
