Konani

Konani (also: Germán Busch) is a village in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Konani is the central place of the Canton of Germán Busch and fourth largest municipality of the county ( municipality ) in the Province of Sica Sica flavor. Northwest of Konani extends the wide plains of the Bolivian highlands, and east of the town rises the Serranía de Sicasica, a north- south oriented mountain barrier between La Paz and Cochabamba, which rises to 4500 m.

Geography

Konani lies at an altitude of 3781 m on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges, the Cordillera Occidental and the Cordillera Central in the west to the east. The region has a pronounced diurnal climate, in which the mean temperature variation during the day is more pronounced as the year progresses.

The average annual temperature of the region is about 11 ° C, the monthly values ​​vary only slightly between 7 ° C in June / July and 13 ° C in November / December (see climate chart Belén ). The annual rainfall is low 450 mm in the arid period from April to October are the monthly values ​​below 25 mm, and only the months from December to February have increased rainfall 80-115 mm.

Konani lies at a distance of 151 kilometers of road southeast of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz from the paved highway Ruta 2 leads west to El Alto, from there the Ruta 1 to the southeast over 138 km through Calamarca and Sica Sica after Konani. From there, the highway continues in a southeasterly direction to the department capitals Oruro, Potosí and Tarija and Bermejo according to the Argentine border.
