Konstantinovy Lázně

Konstantinovy ​​Lazne ( German Konstantinsbad ) is a municipality with 927 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. The spa is situated 40 km west of Pilsen in a wooded landscape and is one of the Plzeň Region of.

History

Since the 16th century, the sulfur stinker sources at Neudorf south of Weseritz were known. In 1803 the first bath house with 22 rooms has been set up at the site of today's Old bath. The owner of the domain Weseritz, Prince Constantine of Lowenstein, the Bad acquired in 1837. The resulting town of Bad Neudorf received in 1900 in his honor the name Konstantinsbad.

1872 had the princely house Lowenstein sold the bathroom to the Pilsen operator of Pancrazio, the two kilometers built from 1874, the New bathroom with a chapel and several pavilions. With the construction of the local railway Neuhof- Weseritz Konstantinsbad received in 1901 a railway connection. Until the expulsion of 1945/1946 the site was inhabited German.

Konstantinovy ​​Lázně is now the only spa in western Bohemia.

2.5 km south of the district Dlouhe Hradiště rises above the valley of Hadovka the ruins of the castle Gutštejn ( Guttenstein ).

Transport links

Konstantinovy ​​Lázně received in 1901 a station on the newly opened local railway Neuhof- Weseritz. Since the station outside the town lay far to the corridor of Kokašice, 1906 a stop has been set up, which is closer to the spa facilities. The original station is named Kokašice today.
