Konstanze Vernon

Konstanze Vernon ( born January 2, 1939 in Berlin, † January 21, 2013 in Munich) was a German dancer, choreographer and professor.

Life

Vernon was the daughter of the musicologist Friedrich Herzfeld and was already at the age of six years, student of Tatiana Gsovsky. The age of 14 she was a member of the Berlin Ballet, the youngest soloist with the 17th Heinz Rosen, director of ballet at the Bavarian State Opera, she undertook in 1963 in his ensemble, where she was from 1963 to 1981 prima ballerina at the Bavarian State Opera.

In particular, with their partners Winfried Krisch and his successor Heinz Bosl they celebrated there with great success. Heinz Bosls early death at only 28 years (1975 ) she led in 1978 to call the " Heinz- Bosl- Stiftung ( Munich Ballet Academy ) " into life. All activities in Munich enabled 1988, the emancipation of the Ballet of the Bavarian State Opera, an independent ballet company (now the Bavarian State Ballet ), who presided as founding director from 1988 to 1998. In 2010 she handed over the management of the Munich Ballet Academy and founded under the Heinz -Bosl -Stiftung, the Bavarian State Ballet II (Junior Company) which will serve as a springboard coming young dancers as a bridge between teaching and stage career.
