Koosh Ball

A Koosh ball is a toy ball that consists of individual rubber threads ( or cord ), which are assembled inside the ball to a soft rubber core.

It was invented in 1986 by Scott Stillinger, who was looking for a toy for his five year old daughter and his eight year old son, it was easy to hold and throw. It was named after the sound he makes when he lands on a surface. Together with his brother Mark Button, who has previously worked as Marketing Manager at Mattel, founded Stillinger 1987 OddzOn Products Inc. to commercialize his invention. 1988 was one of the Koosh ball to some of the most sought after Christmas gifts on the American market. Later, the company expanded its product line to more than 50 on the Koosh Ball -based products: key rings, baseball sets, and yo-yos. The number of sold to date Koosh balls is in the range of several millions.

The ball itself consists of approximately 2000 rubber threads - made ​​from rubber - and was sold in many color and size variations. A variation was the Koosh Kins line of products, which included Koosh balls with cartoon faces and hands. This Koosh Kins were popularized by Archie Comics in a small comic book series.
