Köping, Sweden

Köpings is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Västmanland County and in the historical province of Västmanland. The place is also the capital of the municipality of the same name.

1474 was granted the city rights Köpings. Just outside the resort, the Swedish national anthem was gamla you, you fria by Richard Dybeck written. Today Köpings is an industrial town in which, inter alia, Volvo have, Hastens sängar, Getrag and GKN Driveline production.

In Köpings tungstic acid was by Carl Wilhelm Scheele in 1781 first isolated.
