Köslin (region)

The county of Koszalin in the Prussian province of Pomerania existed from 1816 to 1945.

History

In 1816, the city of Koszalin seat of the Regional Council for Pomerania was. On 1 December 1900, the District counted 587 783 inhabitants, on 17 May 1939 were 597 869. The area included in 1900 14030.73 km ², the 1900 cities and municipalities were divided.

The seat of government was at first a product from the mid-18th century building on the corner of Government Street / Small Wall. With the growth of the administration, the government was gradually distributed over eleven buildings in the city of Koszalin. Not until 1939 did a new, representative government building was completed.
