Kowloon–Canton Railway

The Kowloon - Canton Railway (English: Kowloon - Canton Railway Abbreviation: KCR; Chinese九 广 铁路) is the oldest and most important railway network in Hong Kong, China. It is now operated as part of the Mass Transit Railway.

The first part of the railway was opened in 1910 and linked Kowloon in Hong Kong with Canton (now Guangzhou) in Mainland China. The former British portion of the web is now the East Rail Line.

Last you operate KCR a regular S- Bahn services on four lines, a light rail system between Tuen Mun and Yuen Long and Intercity trains to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Zhaoqing. KCR also ran their own diesel for freight to and from China.

2007 KCR lines in the Mass Transit Railway (MTR ) were integrated. The MTR Corporation operates the KCR railway network, initially for 50 years, which, however, remains in possession of the Kowloon -Canton Railway Corporation ( KCRC ). The KCRC in turn belongs to the government of Hong Kong. As part of the proposed transaction, the KCR East Rail, West Rail and KCR KCR Ma On Shan Rail was renamed the East Rail Line, West Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line. The Mong Kok station on the East Rail was renamed in Mong Kok East Station.
