Koyra Senni (also Eastern Songhay, Koyraboro Senni or Koroboro Senni ) is an in Mali - there especially in Gao - of about 400,000 people (as of 2007, and rising) spoken southern Songhai language.
Literally translated means " koyra - boro senn -i" " language of urban residents " as opposed to nomads (such as the Tuareg ) or other non- sedentary ethnic groups.
Koyra Senni is a national language which has spread west to the Fulbe in the malian - Niger border and east to the Bozo. East of Timbuktu Koyra Senni will be replaced relatively abruptly from Koyra Chiini (or Western Songhay ).
