Kozaklı is one of the county seats (district) from Nevşehir, one of the smallest provinces of Turkey. The city Kozaklı is the center of the homonymous district. The county has a total of about 15,000, the city alone about 7,000 inhabitants (as of 2013). Kozaklı is due to its central location to the nearest larger cities Nevsehir, Kayseri, Yozgat, Nigde and Kırşehir (all approximately 100 km), and especially because of its natural hot springs and of the resultant hammams and hotel facilities a popular Kururlaubsort in Central Anatolia Cappadocia.

The city Kozaklı consists of the following districts: Buruncuk Mah, Hocaahmet Yesevi Mah, Kızılkoyunlu Mah, Mah Yabanlı, Altinsu Mah, Mah Bağlıca, Bahçelievler Mah, Mah Hamamorta and Yeni Mahalle.

The spa town Kozaklı has changed structurally, especially in recent years. By investing the hotel (about 20 ) have increased their room capacities to approximately 650 and the bed capacity to about 7000. The majority of the guests come from the domestic tourism, with a pre- booking may be required, especially in the summer months.

About the naming of the city, there is no reliable information. The conjecture, however, go in the direction that the city was named after a personality named Kozoğlu, who lived at the time of the Seljuks and whose grave is still present in the city.

In the headlines of the media Kozaklı is also advised because of a failed rehabilitation center, the first in Turkey at all. The beginning of the 1980s with modern facilities planned by European standards rehabilitation center was never completed and put into operation due to political changes and alleged bribes. The ruins of this construction project to see compared to the urban thermal bath ( Belediye Kaplıcası ).

Also worth mentioning is the pioneer project of the municipality to provide every household with geothermal energy. It attempts to use the relatively hot thermal water in households for heating purposes.
