Krakauhintermühlen is a municipality with 539 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district or district Murau in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the municipalities and village Krakow Krakow shade, the new community will bear the name " Krakow".

Geography

Krakauhintermühlen located in Krakautal in Murau district in the Austrian state of Styria. The Krakautal is a plateau which extends in the southern part of the Schladming Tauern three communities ( village Krakow, Krakow Krakauhintermühlen and shadow ) with a total of about 1500 inhabitants.

In the village no further cadastral exist outside Krakauhintermühlen.

History

From the 6th century Slavic settlers cleared the area. From the 9th century, Bavarian settlers arrived in the Krakautal. In the Middle Ages there were various landlords. From the 17th century the area was mostly owned by the Prince Schwarzenberg. 1791, the Vicariate of St. Ulrich was built in Krakauebene and 1829 raised to the parish. The abolition of the manorial system was carried out in 1848., The local church as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938 the congregation to Reichsgau Styria came from 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 March 1982. Coat Description: In Silver a black crow bar-shaped ornament raised a red band of three Fünfpaßrosetten.
