Králův Dvůr

Králův Dvůr ( German royal court ) is a town with 6201 ( 28 August 2006) inhabitants in the region Středočeský kraj (Czech Republic).

Location

The city is located on the banks of the river Litavka and is crossed by the highway D5 from Pilsen to Prague.

History

The first written mention of the most historic part of Počaply dates from the year 1302, the royal court itself was first mentioned in 1394, when there King Wenceslas IV was taken prisoner by his noble followers.

In the first half of the 13th century, there was Wenceslas I build a medieval courtyard, which was rebuilt in 1585 by the Lobkowicz family into a Renaissance chateau. The town became the center of the country gentlemen and remained so until 1848. 1850, the four districts were merged.

1860 bought the Princely House of Fürstenberg, the land and began the development of ironworks. Late 19th to the early 20th century, new settlements for workers and employees were built and the population grew continuously. In 1930 the survey of market towns. In 1932 lived in Králův Dvůr including Karlova Huť Křižatka and Popovice 3597 people. A second wave of urbanization, the city experienced in the 1950s, then again with the creation of prefabricated housing in the 1970s. Until 1980 the church remained independent, then Beroun was slammed and 1990 again independently. Zahořany was incorporated in 2003.
