Krasov

Krasov ( German Kronsdorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers west of Krnov and belongs to Okres Bruntál.

Geographical Location

Krasov located to the east of the Jeseníky at the transition to the lower one dies in the valley of the brook Krasovka. History

Kronsdorf probably originated in the mid-15th century. The village was first mentioned in 1502 in the wake of the establishment of a Erbrichters. 1523 acquired the chamber of the Duchy Jägerndorf the place including the mill and brewery. Owners were the Hohenzollern and after the Battle of White Mountain Liechtenstein. In the division of Silesia in 1742 Kronsdorf remained in Austrian Silesia. 1834 consisted of 175 houses and Kronsdorf had 1168 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial created in 1850 the municipality Kronsdorf / Korunov in the District Commission Jägerndorf. 1930 lived in Kronsdorf 984 inhabitants who belonged to almost all of the German ethnic group. The Czech name Korunov was changed in 1935 Krasov. After the Munich Agreement in 1938 Kronsdorf slammed the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district Jägerndorf. 1939 lived 980 people in the community. After the end of the Second World War, the German population was expelled. Since the dissolution of the Okres Krnov the end of 1960 Krasov belongs to Okres Bruntál.
