History

The Krebsbachtal was inhabited in Roman times. Today's settlement was established at the time of the Franks about the year 500 in Neckarbischofsheim. Upper and Untergimpern were probably settled between the 8th and 11th centuries. Helmhof was founded around 1712 by Neckarbischofsheim as clearing settlement on Krebsbach. The course of the stream has been changed several times, so it was removed in the 14th century to the moat of Neckarbischofsheim. He has been widely used to drive mills ( three mills and a sawmill in Neckarbischofsheim, two mills at Helmhof, Talmuhle at Obergimpern ) and used as a horse-pond.

The creek was wearing different names. He was mentioned in 1561 as Bischofsheimer Bach, 1752 as Gimperner Bach, in Neckarbischofsheim the creek city creek was named. More recently, he was named Biegel Bach, Bach and betting just Krebsbach.
