Kremenets

Kremenez (Ukrainian Кременець; Russian: Кременец, Polish: Krzemieniec ) is a major city in western Ukraine, near the Oblastgrenze to Dubno and located north of the district capital, Ternopil.

Probably founded in the second half of the 12th century, it was originally part of the Galician- Volhynia dominion. The first mentioned in a chronicle from the Galician- Volhynia in 1227. Above the town on the hill Bona are the ruins of a medieval fortress.
