Kreuzberg Church, Schwandorf

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Cross Mountain is a parish church in the Kreuzberg in Schwandorf ( Bavaria). It is the same monastery church of the Carmelite Order.

The former Baroque church was almost completely destroyed in a bombing raid in 1945. The statue Mariahilf by Lucas Cranach the Elder remained intact. From 1949 to 1952 it was rebuilt in a modern style.

Organ

The organ was built in the years 1958-1960 by the organ builder way ( Plattling ). The instrument was scheduled in accordance with Organs of the 18th century. It has 48 registers ( 3753 pipes ) on three manuals and pedal. The key action and stop action are electro.

Bells

The church has six bells, some of which were cast at the beginning of the 20th century, partly after the Second World War from different bell foundries. The full peal is heard only in exceptional cases.

Anti- WAA - votive tablet

An anti - WAA - votive tablet hangs in the side chapel of the monastery church and has the following inscription:
