Krzysztof Piesiewicz

Krzysztof Piesiewicz ( born October 25, 1945 in Warsaw) is a Polish lawyer and screenwriter.

Life

Piesiewicz began in 1970 in Warsaw to study law and has been a lawyer since 1973. In the 1980s, he worked in a number of political trials as a lawyer. The most famous case with his participation was the murder of the priest Jerzy Popiełuszko. He was from 1991 to 1993, and since 1997 deputy in the Polish Senate, the second chamber of the Polish Parliament.

In addition to his legal work, Piesiewicz wrote with Krzysztof Kieślowski screenplays. In total, 17 films created by Kieślowski. 1995 his screenplay was three colors: red nominated for an Oscar. In 1996 he was a member of the jury at the film festival in Cannes.

2002 realized the German director Tom Tykwer be authored with Kieślowski script Heaven with Cate Blanchett in the title role. Another book from the estate of Kieślowski, which he had made with Piesiewicz, was realized in France by Danis Tanovic with Emmanuelle Béart under the title L' enfer 2005.
