Krzywań

Krzywań ( German Kriwan ) is a village in the municipality Dębnica Kaszubska in powiat Słupski ( Stolp ) of the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Krzywań located in Pomerania, about eleven miles southeast of downtown Slupsk ( Stolp ) and three and a half miles north of the church village Dębnica Kaszubska ( Rathsdamnitz ).

History

Krzywań (formerly Criwan ) was a noble estate, which the family possessed foreman as a fief. It is said to have been found in 1396 in the possession of this family. The associated village was applied in the form of a small village streets. Probably before 1450 it was acquired by Lütcke Massow. The Massow family is said to have passed through this purchase in Pomerania foot. The foreman family seems to have triggered the possession again. In the 17th century, Lucas was by foreman on Kriwan, Judith von Lettow married on June 29, 1635. In the 18th century is named as owner of the fief Michael Lorenz of foreman. After it had gone bankrupt, it was left in a settlement dated November 28, 1735 Claus Lorenz von Lettow subject to a repurchase right. On October 21, 1746 Sons of Michael Lorenz of foreman renounced their feudal law, which the estate could henceforth be passed on within the family Lettow. After the death of Claus Lorenz von Lettow the estate came to his youngest son, Bogislaw Lorenz von Lettow. He sold in 1752 along with feudal law to Joachim Rüdiger von Massow. After his death, the estate came in 1757 at the youngest son, Captain Joachim von Massow Detloff. The latter sold the estate in 1771 to the mill inspector Caspar Freyschmidt from Stolp. He sold the estate to the hereditary widowed Helena Juliane you Fayee, born of Wobeser. The latter sold Kriwan 1784 for 6,100 dollars to 25 years at Gustav of God Mountain.

Around 1784, there was a Kriwan Vorwerk, three farmers and two Kossäten and nine households. In 1841 the estate for 35,000 Taler was sold to the Althen family. Since 1866, Otto was Althen († 1828) in possession of the goods Kriwan and Neufeld.

In 1925, 16 houses were in Kriwan. 1939 were counted 47 households and 221 inhabitants.

By 1945, the Kriwan belonged to the district of Stolp in Pomerania Region of Pomerania. The municipal area was 934 hectares. In the district Kriwan there were a total of two residences:

  • High field
  • Kriwan

In addition to the well, there was only a single farm operation in Kriwan. Its operating area was five acres. Kriwan was therefore a pure estate village. Last Owner of the property before 1945 was Gerhard von Althen.

Towards the end of World War II Kriwan was occupied on 8 March 1945 by the Soviet Army. In the summer of 1946, Poland took over the village. Kriwan was renamed Krzywań. The German villagers were almost all sold. After 1951/52, there was a German school for the school children of families who had remained in Kriwan and the surrounding area for several years.

43 originating from Kriwan villagers were later identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 118 in East Germany.

In 2006 the village had 44 inhabitants.

School

Kriwan had a single-stage primary school before 1945. In 1932 there taught a single 32 school children.

Church

The population in 1945 was mainly Protestant denomination Kriwan present. In 1925 there were six Catholic population in the village. In the 18th century Kriwan belonged to St. Peter's Church in Stolp and the Synod Stolp -Altstadt. Later, the estate village came to the parish Rathsdamnitz and thus to the church Stolp City. Only the district chief field under stood still at St. Peter's Church in Stolp.
