Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival

The Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival ( KLIFF ) is an annual international event in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Organizer of the KLIFF is the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia ( FINAS ).

History

Had the Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival has its beginnings in February 2003, when as a unique Kuala Lumpur World Film Festival of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia in collaboration with the Non-Aligned Movement conference in the same year under the theme "Peace, harmony, nonviolence and non-discrimination " was organized.

Three years later, a consortium of companies in the entertainment industry decided an annual film festival to host the Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival ( KLIFF ). It was organized by the FINAS ( National Film Development Corporation Malaysia). Under the theme "Celebrating Cultural Diversity" in 2007 then 50 films from 18 countries were shown. The featured 22 films in the competition came from all five continents. There were documentaries, short films and animations. The budget for the film festival was 4 million Malaysian ringgit. The festival was held from November 28 to December 2 at Cathay Cineleisure Mutiara Damansara Perdana and ended with the award ceremony at the Putra World Trade Centre. For 2012 is the 8th - 12th June planned as a remake.

The members of the jury for the competition were U- Wei Haji Shaari from Malaysia, Andrew Vial from Australia, Jeff Bollow from New Zealand, Sozo Teruoka from Japan and Tikoy Aguiluz from the Philippines. The prices:
