Kühlungsborn Pier

The pier cooling Born is a pier on the Baltic Sea in cooling Born in the district of Rostock (Mecklenburg- Vorpommern).

History and Architecture

From about 1895 first Seestege were built, they were the forerunners of the jetties in Brunshaupten and Arend. Since the simple wood constructions of strong ice drift were not grown in the winter, they had to be renewed frequently. First major Seestege were built in 1901, they allowed sailboat rides. The new pier was built in the district of East 1991. It is based on the beach road 240 m long and axially. The pier is located directly on the longest with about 3.2 km German Baltic Sea beach promenade and pier was the first new building on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast. It is regarded as one of the landmarks of the town and is one of a total of 189 piers in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern.

Bridge forecourt

The redesign of the bridge forecourt was carried out in stages. The head situation with forum and Bastion was established in 1992. The bridge was designed in 1991 forecourt.
