The Kulmbach brewery joint-stock company with registered office in Kulmbach is a German brewery company, which was founded in 1846 as Reichelbräu by Johann W. Reichel, Johann K. scheiding and Johann M. Hübner. The conversion into a joint stock company was already 1895.

History

Since 1980 made ​​business expansion, there were recorded in 1980 and 1984 with the companies Sandlerbräu and Mönchshof -Bräu more beers with the assortment.

1986 were taken over by the Schörghuber group 49.9 % of the share capital. 1987 began production of Capuchin White beer. In 1990s made ​​the acquisitions of Sternquell Brewery Plauen, Brau brewery Pride Chemnitz, EKU and a majority stake in the bathroom Brambacher mineral springs. Since 1996 EKU, Reichel, Sandler and Mönchshof are united in the Kulmbach Brewery AG. 2002 rose by commissioning a new clasp system and filter system of the beverage emissions for the first time three million hectoliters.

2002 Coburg breweries were taken storm and Scheid coat. They were together for Coburg brewery, but the beers of storm and Scheid coat were then sold under its own name for several years.

Since 2003 ( 90.7 %) of the Würzburg Hofbräuhaus AG were again two companies integrated in the Kulmbach group with the private brewery Scherdel in court and the acquisition of a majority shareholding.

The Kulmbach brewery AG leads in their logos on the city arms. This was approved for the Reichelbräu 1926 by the City Council Kulmbach. Six years later, the first Reichelbräu Edelherb appeared on the German market.

Since the season 2006/2007 Kulmbach is the official beer of the 1st FC Nuremberg and must be served in the Grundig Stadium. The brewery thus gained thus the advertising rights and may only advertise the club. The brewery is the host of Kulmbach Beer Week ( also Kulmbach Beer Festival ), come to the annual 100,000 visitors. Is being organized by the city of Kulmbach Beer Week and the Kulmbach brewery. The first Kulmbach Beer Week took place in 1939. In a board meeting scheduled shortly after the separation of the two directors Jürgen Brinkmann (Chief Executive Officer ) and Stephan Gimpel -Henning was decided ( Director of Engineering ) with effect from June 4, 2008 by Peter Pöschl and Hans P. van Zon. First, under the new three-member managing committee (Mark Stodden remained Board ), no new CEO determined.
