Kurt Asle Arvesen ( born February 9, 1975 in Molde / Norway ) is a cycling coach and former Norwegian cyclist.

Sporting career

Kurt Asle Arvesen started in 1998 his professional career with the team Asics, was then at Riso Scotti -MG Maglificio (1999), Amica Chips (2000) and fakta (2001-2003). From 2004 to 2008 he rode for the Danish team CSC, in the 2008 season for Team CSC Saxo Bank and in the 2009 season for the now renamed Team Saxo Bank cycling team. On 10 September 2009 it was announced after many rumors that he will leave from the 2010 season for the newly founded Sky Professional Cycling Team.

1999 and 2002, won the Norwegian Championship Arvesen and 2003, the tenth stage of the Giro d' Italia. In 2007 he was again able to win a stage of the Giro, but he struck surprisingly Paolo Bettini in a sprint of a breakaway group. When Spring Tour race Paris-Nice 2005, he was second on the second stage. In 2006 he finished the French fall classic Paris -Tours in second place.
