Kurt Herbert Adler
Kurt Herbert Adler ( born April 2, 1905 in Vienna, † February 9, 1988 in Ross, California ) was an Austrian-American conductor.
Life
Kurt Adler was the nephew of Otto Bauer and great-nephew of Adolph of sun valley. After school and university visit to Vienna he was from 1925 to 1928 conductor at the Theater in der Josefstadt, Vienna, before he, inter alia, as an opera and concert conductor appeared at the Salzburg Festival. He lived since 1938 in the USA. Most recently, he was director of the opera in San Francisco.
