Personal

On 17 March 2009 Hovelijnck crashed heavily during a training run and suffered a fractured skull. The quick help of his colleagues Wouter Weylandt training saved his life this well. After Weylandt on 9 May 2011 just died on the consequences of a base of skull fracture and he had also been to mourn the death of his friends and colleagues Frederiek Nolf and Dimitri De Fauw, Hovelijnck planned to end his career immediately. Shortly afterwards he rejected this plan, however, again. After no new sponsor was found for his team Crelan Euphony for the 2014 season and thus the team is disbanded, he shared with his career end.
