Kurt Sucksdorff

Kurt Sucksdorff ( born May 10, 1904 in Stockholm, † January 1, 1960 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

Kurt Sucksdorff began his career as a hockey player in his hometown, where he was active for the IFK Stockholm 1922-1927. Then the goalkeeper played for seven years until the end of his career for the IK Göta, with whom he three times in a row won the Swedish championship titles in the years 1928, 1929 and 1930.

Internationally

For Sweden Sucksdorff participated in the Winter Olympic Games in 1928 in St. Moritz, where he won the silver medal with his team. As the best European team at the Olympic Winter Games, he won the European Championship with his team. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1931. For the latter, he reached on February 6, 1931 a shutout against Canada, which he was the first European goalie who was at the World Cup against a North American team without conceding a goal.
