Geography

Geographical Location

The village is located about 20 kilometers west of Augsburg amidst the nature park Augsburg Western Woods. The southwestern part of the township is located in the countryside of Reischenau, the northeastern area around the villages Rommelsried and Agawang are part of the Rothtals.

History

1407 was the cathedral chapter of Augsburg Frederick Burggraf of Zusameck bailiwick and court in Kutzenhausen. Until 1803 the town was then in possession of the cathedral chapter of Augsburg. Since 1806 the town belonged to the Kingdom of Bavaria. 1862 to 1929 belonged to the district office Kutzenhausen Zusmarshausen and from 1929 to the district office of Augsburg, which was then called from 1939 as the district of Augsburg. From 1978 to 1993 Kutzenhausen was a member of the administrative community Gessertshausen.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, until then independent municipality book was incorporated. On May 1, 1978 Agawang and Rommelsried and the district Maingründel came the former rural community Reitenbuch (now market Fischach ) added.

On the southern boundary of the municipality, the federal road runs 300; Agawang, Rommelsried and Unternefsried lie on the circular road A1 Augsburg- Dinkelscherben.

On September 26, 1853, the leading Kutzenhausen by section Augsburg- Dinkelscherben the railway Augsburg- Ulm was opened as part of the Bavarian Maximilian Railway, and on May 1, 1854, the total distance of Maximiliansbahn from Ulm to Munich was finally completed. Today, the twin breakpoint Kutzenhausen is operated by the Fugger Express, which runs every hour as each regional express from Ulm to Munich and as a regional train from Dinkelscherben to Munich, so there is a half hour between Dinkelscherben and Munich.

Nationally known is the brewery Rapp, which in Kutzenhausen has its registered office and brewery operates.
