Kyoko Ina

Kyoko Ina (Japanese伊奈 恭子, Kyoko Ina, born October 11, 1972 in Tokyo Prefecture, Japan) is a former Japanese- American figure skater who started in pair skating.

Ina was born in the prefecture of Tokyo, but grew up in New York. She started at the age of four years on the ice rink at Rockefeller Center with the ice skating. She went to the junior level for Japan, but opted for the USA. In 1990 it was U.S. champion in a single run in the juniors. A year later she made a pair of running couple with Jason Dungjen. They were coached by Peter Burrows and Marylynn Gelderman. 1994-1996 were Ina and Dungjen national runner-up and 1997 and 1998 U.S. champion eventually. From 1994 to 1997 she participated in the World Championships. Her best result was a fourth place at the World Championships in 1997 in Lausanne. Ina and Dungjen run two Olympic Games. 1994 in Lillehammer they finished in ninth place, and Nagano in 1998 they were fourth. Then the figure skating couple separated.

From 1998, John Zimmerman Inas partner. They trained at Tamara Moskvina and Igor Moskvin her husband in Hackensack, New Jersey. In the years 2000 to 2002 Zimmerman and Ina were U.S. champion in pair skating. In 2000, she won the silver medal at the Four Continents Championships and the bronze medal in 2001. Their greatest success was winning the bronze medal at the 2002 World Championships in Nagano. The 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City ended the couple on the fifth place. 2003 changed Ina and Zimmerman to the pros and ran at the ice show Stars on Ice.
