Kyriazi Freres

Kyriazi ( Kyriazi Frères ) was a Greek- Egyptian tobacco and cigarette manufacturers.

The company in 1873 by Ioannis Kyriazis with his brothers Efstathios and Epaminondas, the other brothers, George and Dimitris were also employed in the company was founded. Whose parents had immigrated from Greece. Neoklis Kyriazis, the son of George Kyriazis, later became physicians and dealt with the consequences of tobacco consumption.

To 1901, the company exported about 103 million cigarettes a year. The sons of Ioannis ( Damianos Kyriazis and Kostadinos ) opened factories in Amsterdam (1922 ) and Hamburg ( 1925). A separate sales company existed in London.

Were produced brands Aris, Astra, Conqueror Extra, Egyptica, Emir, Ferik, Finas, Ideal, Imperatore, Neptune, Special and Zenith. The target group in Europe was a younger audience, which deals with the exotic products from established brands such as Jasmatzi ( with brands such as " Augustus the Strong " ) wanted to settle.

Kyriazi had in West Germany in 1960 a market share of 1.2%, whose share went to British American Tobacco. To date, a Kyriazi Freres GmbH exists in Hamburg.
