Kystlink
Kystlink was a Norwegian shipping company ( since November 2006) operated two ferries between the Danish and the Norwegian town of Hirtshals Langesund (since 2002) and Langesund and the Swedish port Strömstad. October 21, 2008, the ferry service was discontinued due to financial difficulties.
Between 1998 and May 2005, Kystlink made especially known as a " trucker ferry" that are inexpensive truck transported between Denmark and Norway. Cars and campers played a minor role.
As a replacement for the " Boa Vista ", the " Envoy" was used from 2004 onwards. In May 2005 Kystlink chartered by the Greek shipping company GA Ferries, the " Alkmini A" which 1983-1996 as " Stena Jutlandica " between Göteborg and Frederikshavn and between 1996 and 2004 as " Stena Empereur " and " Pride of Provence " between Calais and Dover was used. The " Alkmini A" was installed under the marketing name " Pride of Telemark " between Hirtshals and Langesund. In October 2005 the ship was registered for Kystlink and officially renamed the " Pride of Telemark "; later, the ship sailed under the Norwegian flag.
On 11 September 2007 which ran " Pride of Telemark " after a power failure in the port of Hirtshals maneuver on the pier. During the collision, the underwater hull was damaged. The ferry came just to investors the Color Line, where the bow then ran aground. On board were 150 passengers and 64 crew members. The vessel was evacuated and no one was injured. On 13 September 2007, the remaining aboard cars and trucks were taken from the ferry. The injury eventually took place in the Cityvarvet in Gothenburg. There, the ship was declared a total loss but repaired in November of the year in Frederikshavn for about 10 million euros. The " Fantaasia ", previously in the service of the Estonian shipping company Tallink, could be chartered and has been in use since December 2007. In spring 2008 the ship was bought and used under the name Kongshavn.
The shipping company ran into financial difficulties in the fall of 2008 and declared on 3 October 2008 that the ferry service 31 October 2008 is set unless a new investor is found who is willing to invest around six million euros. On October 20, they announced the setting of the ferry service as of October 21, as no investor could be found.
On 2 July 2009, the Norwegian newspaper " Fraedrelandvennen " reported that the newly established Danish shipping Thyferries the ferry " Pride of Telemark " of the Kystlink parent company Boa RoRo A / S ( Taubåtskompaniet A / S) has chartered from 2010 to 2014, to sail with her from about May 2010, the ferry crossing Hanstholm - Kristiansand. Lack financing it did not for sale, so that the ship, which was launched in several Norwegian ports after repair, was sold in the fall of 2011 for demolition to Alang.
